About Sarah Johnson
Baby and child sleep consultant, multi-talented birth and postnatal doula, birth and parenting educator, writer. After Oxford University I worked as an education correspondent for the Daily Telegraph, The Times and the Sunday Telegraph as well as freelancing during a year-long stay in Germany. As my four children arrived and grew up I continued freelance journalism and began writing on parenting. I was children's books editor for The Times for eight years (spotted Harry Potter as a sure winner!) and wrote a column for the Catholic Herald for five years. I have published three books: Parents on Parenting (Vermilion 1994), Daring to be Different (Darton Longman Todd 2003) and The Christian Parent's Toolkit (Continuum 2006) and I have worked as a doula since 2004.I’m a highly experienced hypnobirthing practitioner specialising in the Wise Hippo birthing program.My sleep consultant training has been with Lyndsey Hookway’s acclaimed Open College Network accredited Holistic Sleep Coaching program.I have also extensive experience in the voluntary sector, as a church volunteer and having been a school governor for 12 years.Specialties: Highly experienced and articulate writer, columnist and feature writer, hands-on experience supporting women before, during and after childbirth, skilled HypnoBirthing teacher, birth educator, doula, sleep consultant.
