I am currently a student at Mohawk College in the Therapeutic Recreation program and will be graduating in September 2023. I look forward to empowering people to create purposeful and meaningful leisure in their life to improve their overall health, well-being, and quality of life.I look forward to working and supporting people to achieve their goals and maximize their quality of life. I have many person-centered skills that I developed along the way that will help in developing relationships with clients so I can get to know their needs and wants to best support their goals!This is a second career for me as I previously graduated and worked in the Child and Youth Care field which I loved but felt I needed a change. I enjoyed my career as a CYW and know that I will be able to transfer skills I learned into my career as an RT. I am very excited to start my career in RT and I will continue my education by completing my R/TRO designation. My areas of expertise include:Supporting children, supporting mental health, supporting persons with a developmental disability, creating SMART programs by collaborating with staff and clients. As my education is still not complete I am still developing other areas of expertise.
