Profile bio

About Sarah Wu

Hello! My name is Sarah, and I am currently senior Computer Science, English, and Anthropology major at Amherst College. I am working with Wistariahurst Museum and Professor Matteo Riondato to design data pipelines for Amherst College's SURF Research Program. I research how information translates between daily life and search engines to the database and the digital.Additionally, I am also interested in creative writing. I enjoy exploring how stories can be told digitally, and how the online space interacts and enhances the literary experience. I also look at surrealist short stories to delve into the weird and bizarre. Currently, my creative work focuses on themes tied to my Asian American identity: specifically, thoughts on unhomeliness, ornamentalism, familial ties, and dreams.
