Bloomberg Daybreak: Middle East every Sun-Thurs. This job has 2 roles. One is guest booking, which is both on a daily basis looking for local money managers to comment on current topics in the news, and on a larger scale for CEOs and Chairmen around earnings season or when big announcements are made.The other side of the role is in producing live output. It involves writing scripts, putting together elements to properly demonstrate a story, all while coordinating hits from reporters from around the world.

Wimbledon

Here I work as part of the engineering team for IMG on The Wimbledon Radio Channel every year covering the world famous tennis tournament. Includes rigging up/de-rigging various courts and presenting spots around the grounds daily for the show to be broadcast from as well as the main studio. Throughout the tournament I am responsible for sound mixing the live broadcast and recording the overnight podcast, plus day to day problem solving with equipment.

This role involved two positions. One was producing live output, managing presenters, sourcing material and selecting stories. It also included being responsible for the podcast and online content.The other position was booking guests. Each show used up to 5 guests per day and it was my responsibility to both source and book them, and then collate all information necessary for presenters to conduct the best interview possible. Occasional off site broadcasts would call for additional guests and more organisational skill.

I work on the news desk at Bloomberg TV involves keeping everyone up to date of breaking lines, either creating myself or commissioning graphics and full screens, cutting vision and soundbites and generally making sure we have everything we need to go to air at 6am the following day.I am also able to field produce both interviews and all day presenting from both locations in the UK and abroad, coordinating guests and hit times as well as keeping on top of the headlines and updating the reporter.Recently i have also started producing the European Close Show which runs for up to 3hrs a day in the afternoon. This involves choosing the right stories, working with producers in New York, finding the right expert to speak on the story, sourcing new interviews to play and dealing with last minute headlines which hit during the show time.

I work 2 positions at Sky News. As Deputy News Editor I work in the main newsroom. This involves coordinating reporters, arranging live hits, monitoring wires to find new stories, confirming with authorities the authenticity of stories, keeping producers updated of new footage/stills coming in and finding locations to shoot. When on the night shift there is no news editor, and it is my job to keep across all new information coming, and to source footage/stills for the morning team to use. I am also responsible for going through the next day's papers and finding stories and standing them up in time for Sunrise to use. Should anything break, it is my job to send out the overnight reporter and camera or appropriate regional team to cover it/be there for the morning.Being the Planning Editor involves planning the news for the next day. It's about finding the stories, scouting locations to shoot, finding interviewees, coordinating reporters and having it all filmed and edited in time for the morning broadcast.

Besides driving the desk and operating microphones/calls/audio clips etc it was my duty to ensure all the equipment was working before hand.The best part of this job was driving sport shows. It involved a lot of action, was pacey and demanded attention to detail and a quick reaction.

For Heart in Cambridgeshire, Thames Valley and Four Counties. I worked as a reporter going out on stories, finding interviews, setting the scene and getting the public opinion. I also wrote scripts and read bulletins from the studio.
