My tasks include project management, research protocol development, data collection and analysis, and grant and manuscript writing. My current project work includes managing a AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety grant examining the use of cannabis and driving behavior across the nation to inform messaging that may help decrease impaired driving. In working with colleagues at Kansas State, my team and I are determining the factors of fatigue in railroad agencies across Southern California to address the call from the Federal Railroad Administration to reduce fatigue risks. I am assisting in bringing awareness to the commercial motor vehicle community in California about alcohol and drug-related impairment, with hopes to expand informational summits and curriculum regionally as well as nationwide. My career interests lie in creating safer conditions for roadway and railway users and operators by working across stakeholder groups toward the same goal. Show less
