USA TODAY, a subsidiary of Gannett, contains a full-scale event production and technology company that creates unique and memorable experiences for our attendees, viewers and participants. Our portfolio encompasses 300+ different types of live and recorded flagship and endurance events each year including awards shows and galas, festivals, concerts, parties, expos, marathons, cycling races and more. My current role is a senior leadership position, overseeing the events portfolio and its creative, sales, and operational strategies. This includes working closely with the department leaders to prepare budgets, track and report weekly revenue and expense flashes, people and project management for all live events and programming, planning and strategy for new event initiatives and revenue driving ideas, while still having a hand in (and heart for) designing each event’s production, atmosphere and overall experience.
