I established Affordable Bookkeeping for Small Business to provide a 'bookkeeping plus' service for small businessesin the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria.I have an extensive legal and administrative background from working at the Australian Taxation Office (1978-1989, and again between 2005 - 2011), KPMG Tax and Legal Services (1989-1993) and running my own small business (1993 - 2005). I have a law degree and since early in 2011 I have completed Certificate IV's in Bookkeeping and Accounting and started up Affordable Bookkeping. My advice to potential clients is to decide what you want from a bookkeeper. Do you want someone that wants to improve your business? To add value by reducing your accountancy costs? To care about your bottom line? To assist in your dealings with the Tax Office? To insist that your accounts be correct? To communicate with you about the financial healthof your business? To put you in touch with other external business service providers?I believe that the growing trend for small businesses is a move towards a more holistic approach from their external service providers.I welcome bookkeeping enquiries from anyone on +61 414 265 278 or info@affordablebookkeepingforsmallbusiness.com.auMy other developing enterprise is Problem Solvers Australia, an affordable resource for anyone who is experiencing difficulties with a Government agency, a large corporation, another business or is in a private dispute.I have highly developed mediation and negotiation skills gained over many years in a dispute resolution role with the ATO. I understand how to use the system to your best advantage and am familiar with alernative dispute resolution (ADR) forums such as the various Ombudsmen which can assist with many of these disputes.I welcome mediation enquiries from anyone on +61 414 265 278.

This can be as simple as BAS preparation, or a more comprehensive role in which we not only complete all of your book-keeping requirements, but also add value to our service by offering advice or suggestions as to how to improve your bottom line, how to reduce some of your expenses or increase your income, how to streamline the accounting process, how to manage your tax obligations, and putting you in touch with other service professionals whose input your business might benefit from, for example Marketing or Human Resources. My past experience has also led to a specialty in mediating with the ATO and other large organisations. This means that if you need assistance with negotiating payment arrangements, delayed forms lodgement or disputes with the ATO, we can help.
