Director Of Marketing And Events, Bartender

Growler Grlz

Durham, North Carolina

I developed ideas for events to reach more customers, drive sales during slower parts of the week, and boost our philanthropic footprint. After developing the ideas, I then marketed and executed each event. During the summer months, I reached out to local animal rescue organizations and created the Dog Dayz of Summer. This was a weekly event where the taproom hosted a different adoption event. Our company donated $1/pint sold during the three hour period that the rescue organization was on location. Through social media marketing, our customers and followers of the corresponding organizations were able to connect with each other. Growler Grlz was able to provide people to adopt animals and also become foster 'parents', and the organization helped Growler Grlz gain new clientele who may not have known about the taproom otherwise. We did this for 8 weeks and donated a total of about $1000 from our beer sales alone.I also coordinated all special philanthropic events. October 2018 was the second annual Auctions for a Cure, which all of the proceeds from the silent and live auctions went to one of the Triangle's Real Men Wear Pink. That campaign is a major fundraiser for The American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. in 2017, the auctions raised just under $2000. in 2018, with the proper advertising, letters explaining why the donations were being requested, and the use of social media, we were able to over doubled that number!
