What do you want to be when you grow up? This was a question I was asked often and my first response as a young child was that I wanted to be happy. That answer changed of course as I got older and understood what was really meant by that question but as a grown adult I go back to my original answer. I find that happiness in education and contributing to others. I strive to make a difference in bettering others, myself and the world we share. Empathy and compassion are my super powers which have grown with the meaningful work of researching how to help formerly incarcerated parents create bonds with their children. I appreciate work that is meaningful because it motivates me to be creative and determined in my performance. I believe it matters how you get there, wherever that may be. I do enjoy working under pressure and thrive on business but I also make sure to keep balanced. In my free time I surround myself with books at the public library where I volunteer setting up events, book sales, and any other needs that come along. I find children's literature the best tool in creating change and providing the platform for truth. If you are in need of specific topic for a children's book then I am your resource! Another activity I enjoy is baking fancy occasion cakes which allows for a fun and creative outlet not to mention how much my friends and family appreciate it.
