About Sara Hebert
Storytelling is vicarious life living. I grew up in the middle of a rice field (not joking). Stories were my lifeline to the world. I fell in love with the magical world of video games, the surreal landscapes of animation, and music from around the globe, piped in by my local public radio station. Over the past decade, I've created communities and worked with creators to help others escape from reality. I've worked on games for nearly every platform (still waiting to ship a Playdate game!), award-winning animated films (Oscars!), best-selling books (New York Times bestsellers!), and in/around reality-bending technology (virtual, augmented, mixed... I've got you!). As a curious, research-driven person, I've developed a knack for understanding what audiences and fandoms are passionate about, then using that to create marketing strategies, product development, release strategies, and publishing relationships. Currently, I head up publishing and marketing at Night School, an internal Netflix game studio that creates narrative games infused with wonder, danger, and humor. One of the greatest joys of this role and every other one before this, is that I get to build a studio with the most amazing and talented community of human beings. I'm lucky to show up to make our work seen and experienced by as many people as possible – that's what gets me up in the morning. My favorite career achievements:🔺Shipped and promoted over a dozen games – most recently, OXENFREE II: Lost Signals – with small and large publishers as well as independent projects, garnering platform featuring and support for each from first parties like Netflix, PlayStation, Nintendo, Apple, Amazon, Microsoft, and more. 🎥 Cultivated a partnership with Turner Classic Movies on TCM Movie Camp, a movie series hosted by Moonbot cofounders Brandon Oldenburg and William Joyce.📰 Garnered significant PR coverage for games and films in major national publications including Fast Company, Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, and more.🏆 Secured placement and awards for numerous game, film, book, and transmedia projects at 100+ film festivals around the globe, garnering award nominations and wins at the Academy Awards, Emmy Awards, and more.📻 Co-created, hosted, and produced an independent podcast and live storytelling event series, All Y'all, creating community among people from all walks of life in the South, selling thousands of tickets and publishing dozens of episodes.
Listed skills include Social Media, Seo, Illustrator, Public Relations, and 21 others.
