CurrentStrategic and Operational responsibility for building and visitor services, commercial activities, human resources. Including but not restricted to:• Member of the Senior Management Team reporting to the Board of Trustees. Contributing to budget setting and monitoring, strategy setting and long term planning.• Management of all staff contracts, welfare, induction and other training requirements.• Recruitment and performance management responsibility for visitor services team, cafe and shop staff, volunteers, interns. • Responsibility for delivering a high quality customer service with the front of house teams• Maximising income through commercial enterprises such as Museum cafe, shop, and venue hires• Accountable for all risk assessments, legislative and governance compliance. • Project co-ordination for large works up to £540,000 reporting to Capital Project Director.• Managing in-house and outsourced provision of soft services to ensure the smooth running of the office and front of house activities.• Sourcing and managing appropriate suppliers and specialists to provide the required hard services such as waste management, security and fire prevention systems, IT & telecoms provision. • Maintaining fabric of the building using appropriate specialists and reviewing building services such as gas, water & electricity supplies, maintaining heating, ventilation, drainage. • Consulting with and instructing service partners such as SEE, M & E consultants, architects, quantity surveyors and other specialist suppliers such as stonemasons, painters and joiners. • Establishing excellent working relationships with in-house and external teams.
