I'm a private investigator in Denver, Colorado. I'm also a visual artist, and the author of the essay collection SUNSHINE STATE, a New York Times Editors’ Choice; the novel BINARY STAR, a finalist for the Los Angeles Times first fiction prize; and the novel, TRUE LOVE. My short stories, essays, interviews, and criticism have appeared in The New York Times, T Magazine, Granta, The Baffler, Vice, and several anthologies. My paper collages have appeared in Hazlitt, BOMB Magazine, Epiphany Magazine, No Tokens Journal, and the Blue Earth Review. RECYCLE, a co-authored book of collages and text, was published by Pacific in 2018. My most recent chapbook, THE BUTTER HOUSE, was released by Conium in 2023. My book CARRIE CAROLYN COCO was released in July 2024. I've been supported by scholarships and fellowships from Yaddo, Tin House, PlatteForum, the Whiting Foundation, and Ucross, and was the 2018 – 2019 New College of Florida Writer-in-Residence.
