I play a key role in the day-to-day execution of the commercial side of the business, working with the leadership team to translate big picture ideas and concepts into a variety of online and in-person events and editorial programs. As the key point of contact between the client and broader team/suppliers, I act as a translator of client ideas and topics into an event format, and take responsibility for production projects from start to finish.I own and drive all areas including overarching strategy (and engaging the right people for the subject matter expertise), project planning, talent and delegate acquisition, scheduling, briefing, supplier liaison, venue confirmation, engagement of specialists like copywriters, graphic designers, digital team etc.

BESydney is a specialist bidding services organisation responsible for attracting global meetings to Sydney.  Media strategy – identified and developed busy media and stakeholder engagement calendar for announcements and editorial opportunities, including mainstream, industry and B2B pitches, creation of a network of contacts, writing releases, speeches, and photo opportunities with federal and state government ministerial involvement.  Corporate affairs – liaised with federal and state ministerial offices and agencies on strategic media activity, briefings, letters of support for platinum bids, speeches for events and CEO quotes for ministerial releases.  Marketing services – led effective destination marketing campaigns across global markets to support business development objectives, including project management of tradeshow activities, social media campaigns (Western and Asian), press launches, media buying and advertorial, CEO and government representative briefings and speeches, and client engagement events.  Passion for new channels – proactively researched and implemented new technologies to enhance business activities, deliver effective messaging and reach new potential markets. This included powerful touchscreen presentations for the BD team to use whilst in client meetings internationally.  Marketing guidance – on bidding opportunities by developing key messaging and the overall bid narrative.

Managed a team of three to deliver an award-winning, UK-focused B2B monthly magazine, Conference News, and a quarterly global B2B magazine, Conference and Meetings World, for the business travel industry.
