Gas Engineering • Interference / Public Improvement: - Coordinated with field crews to get information about potential and existing encroachments.- Designed and drew layouts for encroachment conditions. - Obtained state, city and municipality designs to determine the replacement or re-routing of gas facilities that may interfere with water, sewage, highway construction, bridge repair rehabilitation and private projects - Conducted field inspections for encroachments and public improvement projects.- Utilized and interpreted company’s WPAs, Archives and Micro-plates to determine if a Cast Iron pipe is dead or alive, issuing Dead or Alive tests to field crews when needed. • Maps and Records: - Updated Gas Mains and Services Plates using Microstation and AM/FM (Vision) software.- Mapping replacement of gas mains and services as well as other underground gas facilities. - Conducted field visits and coordinating with field personnel. - Used the Gas Inspection System (GIS) to input and update main valves and other information. - Utilized project-wise to update field information.- Drafted to-scale drawings of regulator stations. • System Reliability: - Designed and drawing of layouts for gas mains and services replacement. - Calculated cost estimates for new gas mains and services installation. - Appropriated jobs to justify the cost and budgeting for gas main and service replacements and installation. - Determined the adequacy of existing and new gas service sizes through Customer Information Service (CIS). • Oil to Gas Conversion:- Planning, designing and drawing of layouts for proposed new customer services and proposed main extensions. - Processed requests for new gas service for customers converting from oil to gas.- Calculated loads to complete and sizing gas service piping for new and existing customers. - Provided cost estimates for customer accommodations, service installation and large main reinforcement project.
