Having taken a career break to care for my children, I am now preparing for my return to practise.I have current experience as an Employment Adviser in the Specialist Employment Team at Citizens Advice Stevenage where I undertake paid work including drafting Particulars of Claim, Employment Tribunal case management and acting as Relevant Independent Adviser in respect of settlement agreements, as well as offering some advice on a pro bono basis. I have also undertaken extensive employment law training recently. I have 6 years PQE of conducting Mental Health Tribunals and community care matters and my previous role was as Head of Department. I have particular expertise in undertaking advocacy at the Tribunal, as evidenced by my previous membership of the Mental Health Accreditation Scheme. I also have experience of conducting a wide range of community care matters, including representation in judicial review proceedings in the High Court. I have also acted in proceedings in the County Court.I have previously drafted claims to the Mental Health Tribunal, undertaken case management, analysed Tribunal decisions for grounds of appeal and drafted advance decisions.Through my exposure to employment law at Citizens Advice, I have developed a keen interest in that practice area. I conducted file reviews, implemented the disciplinary procedure when necessary and assisted in implementing the redundancy procedure. I managed the day to day running of the organisation while the Partner and Practice Manager were both on leave, sometimes for up to six weeks. I took an active role in business development including assisting in tendering for and obtaining Legal Aid Agency civil contracts. I also undertook marketing to promote the organisation and established and delivered their participation in a hospital's weekly legal advice clinic. As the organisation's Training Coordinator I prepared and delivered many in-house training courses and oversaw colleagues' professional development.
