After graduating from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Marketing in 2000, I landed a job at one of the world’s leading consumer packaged goods advertising agencies where I managed campaign strategy for brands like Hostess, St. Ives and Purina.In 2003, when I joined the Kenya Tourist Board as their North American Marketing Manager, I began working in travel and tourism and haven't looked back since.Still reeling from the impact of 9/11 on global travel and the world’s economy, in 2003 Kenya’s tourism industry was suffering. Together with an amazing team, I worked tirelessly to mobilize the travel trade, the media and consumers to resurrect travel to Kenya. Between 2003 and 2006, we grew tourism from the U.S. to Kenya by over 35%. During this time, I was quoted in leading consumer publications like National Geographic and USA Today on travel to Africa and won an HSMAI travel-marketing award for Kenya’s consumer campaign. In 2006, I launched Travel Marketing Worldwide (TMW), a B2B travel-marketing firm specializing in promoting unique African travel experiences to the US travel trade. After selling TMW in 2013, I went on to co-found and spent a few years working on a travel technology startup called Globa.li, building technology that enables online bookings for boutique hotels around the world. I was also lucky to spend several years as part of the amazing team at Rothschild Safaris, a custom, luxury tour operator, supporting a worldwide network of travel agency and industry partners.Today, I'm thrilled to design travel experiences for families around the world, helping them create treasured memories together.
