• I am an accredited mediator and founder of 'The Medical Mediation Foundation', a not for profit organisation which provides specialised mediation services and conflict management training to a wide variety of NHS hospitals. In November 2018, MMF won the "mediation project of the year" award in The National Mediation Awards. In October 2010, the Foundation was awarded a grant by the Department of Health £30 million children's palliative care fund to develop and evaluate the mediation model. The Foundation also provides training for health professionals in managing conflict with patients and families. From January 2013-January 2015, MMF was contracted to pilot an independent mediation service at the Evelina London's Children Hospital, with funding from the Guys and St Thomas's charity. The project was evaluated independently and found to be successful in helping health professionals to identify and de-escalate conflict. It is now funded by Evelina London. Since 2013, we have trained more than 3,000 healthcare professionals at the Evelina• Before becoming a mediator, I was a journalist and broadcaster, working for many years as a senior correspondent for BBC television, first as Health Correspondent and then as a presenter for the Panorama programme. • A specialist in medical and social affairs journalism, I won the 2005 Royal Television Society Specialist Journalism Award for "Miracle Baby Grows Up" - a documentary which investigated outcomes for babies born at or below 25 weeks. I was also part of the production team nominated for a Bafta for Panorama 'Undercover Nurse' in 2006.• I am the author of 'Jaymee: The Story of Child B' published in 1996 and have an MA in Medical Ethics and Law from King’s College LondonSpecialties: I am an accredited mediator and former specialist medical journalist, writer, broadcaster and current affairs scriptwriter with an MA in medical ethics and law.
