CURRENTLY ON PARENTAL LEAVE, RETURNING TO MY DESK/MISSION LATE 2024! :) I am a White, Australian-born settler, descendant of Irish and Welsh immigrants, and received my PhD in Anthropology and Development Studies from the University of Adelaide, on the unceded lands of the Kaurna People (Traditional Custodians). I am currently the Senior Research Associate at The Equality Institute, a global feminist agency working to advance gender equality and end violence against women and girls and provide technical research support on research projects in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. I am a trained anthropologist and gender specialist in the field of International Development and Gender-based violence. I have strong skills in critical analysis and qualitative research methods. Key themes of interest include gender-based violence, social norms change, and gender performativity. I possess 10 years of academic and work experience in the field of International Development and anthropology, where I've worked with both local and international non-governmental organisations, as well as undertaken Bachelor's level course coordination at Australian Catholic University in International Development, Politics and Sociology. I studied for my PhD in Nepal, working with women and NGOs to understand the cultural drivers of gender-based violence in Nepali contexts.
