I am responsible for the implementation of the global DP World sustainability strategy ‘Our World, Our Future’ into terminal and logistics operations in North, Central and South America and the Caribbean.

In my role of Sustainability Director at SSA Marine/Carrix, I was responsible for integrating all aspects of ESG into 250+ global marine terminals and intermodal facilities, with a focus on decarbonization.

As Director of Transport and Green Freight at BSR, I worked with the freight and logistics industry to advance more climate-resilient, sustainable, and inclusive operations through collaborative initiatives, consulting, and research. This included oversight of the Clean Cargo Working Group, Sustainable Air Freight Alliance, Future of Fuels, and the Sustainable Freight Buyers Alliance collaborations, in addition to incubating transformative initiatives to enable change at a global scale.

Provided expertise to port authorities, industry groups, shipping companies to develop projects to address air quality and climate change issues.

As Technical Programme Officer with the IMO Marine Environment Division, Sub-Division for Protective Measures, I supported the IMO Member States on air quality and climate change issues related to MARPOL Annex VI. Served as Secretariat for the Marine Environmental Protection Committee (MEPC) working groups on data collection of fuel consumption of ships and further measures to reduce greenhouse gases, as well at the Pollution Prevention and Response Sub-Committee and the contracting parties to the London Convention/London Protocol. Provided technical expertise to the Transforming the Global Maritime Transport Industry towards a Low Carbon Future through Improved Energy Efficiency (GloMEEP) and Marine Technology Cooperation Centres (MTCC) projects. Represented the IMO at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

As Global Head of Sustainable Logistics for Damco (part of the A.P. Møller - Maersk Group), I worked with international companies to bring visibility and practical solutions to eliminate waste, improve efficiency, and reduce social and environmental impacts within international supply chains, with the goal of integrating sustainability into business operations.In this role, I also represented the freight forwarders on the Clean Cargo Work Group Steering Committee.

Provided vision and leadership to advance the Port of Seattle’s Air Quality program through implementation of innovative policies and private/public partnerships to advance the Port’s environmental, public health, social responsibility, and business goals while promoting sustainable port operation and goods movement practices worldwide. My key projects and programs included the Green Gateway Initiative, Northwest Ports Clean Air Strategy, Puget Sound Maritime Air Emissions Inventory, At-Berth Clean Fuels Vessel Incentive Program, and the Clean Truck Program. I also worked with industry groups, such as the World Ports Climate Initiative, to better understand environmental impacts of ports and shipping on an international scale.
