Served as Secretariat for the Marine Environmental Protection Committee (MEPC) working groups on data collection of fuel consumption of ships and further measures to reduce greenhouse gases, as well at the Pollution Prevention and Response Sub-Committee and the contracting parties to the London Convention/London Protocol. Provided technical expertise to the Transforming the Global Maritime Transport Industry towards a Low Carbon Future through Improved Energy Efficiency (GloMEEP) and Marine Technology Cooperation Centres (MTCC) projects. Represented the IMO at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
