My current research project involves characterization of genetic factors controlling cotton architecture. I've employed phylogenetics, reverse genetics coupled with reporter gene promoter and protein localization studies, and protein-protein interaction assay to discovery the effects of gene function on plant architecture. My skills include myriad molecular cloning techniques including traditional, Gateway, in vivo homologous recombination and Gibson Assembly, stable and transient plant transformation through Argobacterium-mediated and particle bombardment techniques, nucleic acid extraction and purification, Next-Generation DNA sequencing, epiflorescence and confocal microscopy, and RT-qPCR.
