It's hard to believe I have worked in graphic design for almost 20 years. There is no end to new challenges in this crazy creative world. These days, my focus is as much on creative guidance and collaboration as it is on design execution. I value small teams and tend to stay put for a while, reaping the rewards of strong relationships and seeing positive change over time.I started in a "one stop shop" where I learned how to weed cut vinyl, operate a sublimation press, talk to vendors and use my shortcut keys, among (many) other things. This foundation in hands-on design work was invaluable and has served me well.Over the next 7 years at California Family Fitness, I honed my love for environmental graphics and signage, supporting gym interiors/exteriors and contributing to the opening of new locations. Advertising was a big focus and I participated in multiple ad campaigns. Our small marketing team pumped out a LOT of work. The fast-paced nature of the fitness industry taught me to thrive in high-energy environments, which I carried into my next role at Balanced Body.At Balanced Body, I transitioned from print design into UI/UX, collaborating closely with web developers and leading design efforts for several new company websites. As design team lead, I’ve taken on more responsibility in guiding creative projects and fostering collaboration across teams. Photography has been a key aspect of my work here, and I dedicate significant time to art direction, planning, and quality control to ensure we produce great visual work. 10 years and counting...
