Arriving in Australia as an 18 year old, I completed my Bachelor of Arts. Following my study I was employed in customer service and marketing sectors for about a year until I made the decision to pursue a study in nursing. I completed the Masters of Nursing Science at the University of Melbourne in December 2018. Clinical placement experiences included renal/endocrinology, palliative, community-based mental health, emergency department, and vascular/plastics at several large metropolitan based hospitals in Melbourne. I obtained my Australian Permanent Residency in February 2019. Following a 7 month waiting time I was finally granted my nursing registration in July 2019. There is no doubt that nursing is what I am truly passionate about; practicing as an empathetic, honest, and kind nurse, whilst using most recent approved evidence-based skills is something I strongly believe in. Following my study, I have continued to pursue further certification in order to expand my skill set. I am a patient and understanding person, and will go above and beyond to make a patient's day a little brighter.I am fluent in English and Dutch and my international upbringing has given me a multicultural understanding. Over the course of my experiences I have encountered many people from all walks of life and it has made me an open-minded and objective person when engaging with patients, their family, and staff.
