My role at RCS is a broad based HR Business Partner role liaising and working with the business on matters including recruitment, talent management, employee relations and performance management. Human Resources & Recruitment Manager for Grassroot Soccer - an NGO that uses the power of soccer in the fight against HIV/Aids.Worked as a short-term consultant to set up the HR department and recruit for Grassroot Soccer. • Set up a human resources department virtually from scratch including creating HR systems, policies and procedures for the organisation; • Developed the recruitment process and strategy for all vacancies (from advertising, screening and interviewing to reference checking and induction of new employees including processing all necessary documentation);• Drafted and developed employee contracts and offer letters and standardised other employee documentation;• Developed and drafted the organisation’s employment manual and ensured compliance with South African labour law and organisational policies and rolled out the manual to the employees;• Worked closely with the finance department on a variety of payroll issues;• Rolled out benefits system across the organisation;• Developed performance appraisal system for all employees and worked closely with managers to educate them about goal setting for staff;• Worked with senior management to develop future hiring process across the organisation;• Managed and mentored two interns providing them with HR and recruitment related work and giving constant feedback and input into their development.

I set up my own legal recruitment company in Cape Town called Search Legal (www.searchlegal.co.za). I recruited lawyers for South African law firms and corporates as well as sending candidates from South Africa overseas for positions in the UK.

I was a recruitment consultant with Technopark in Cape Town, South Africa. I mainly focused on recruiting lawyers/attorneys for roles in law firms or in-house counsel positions. I also recruited other senior staff in a variety of sectors including finance, retail, property.

Legal Recruitment Specialist for Hudson in London office and then Sydney office. Focused on recruiting lawyers for in-house counsel roles from junior through to Heads of Legal/General Counsel roles.

I served my two year articles with top London firm Berwin Leighton Paisner and qualified as a solicitor in September 2002.
