My career has spanned many disciplines, but at its core is the desire to unite interdisciplinary teams to facilitate the translation of research.Working at C-suite level to shape and deliver company strategy, my roles within SMEs have supported strategic decisions and commercial operations including HR, finance, IT and Health and Safety within QMS environments. I project manage the internal and external teams to deliver milestones and goals to support traction. As a clinical lead, I have ensured effective communications with all stakeholders and designed clinical studies to support claims. My diverse roles have also covered marketing and communications, and anything and everything else that an SME with a small team needs. I worked at Newcastle University for 18 years supporting academic and clinical research, from grant application stage through contract negotiation to project management of a multi-million pound portfolio of externally funded research projects and clinical trials. These included the University's MRC Proximity to Discovery and Confidence in Concept schemes, CTIMP and non-CTIMP clinical trials, UKRI, EU and charity funded projects. I prepared clinical trial documentation with NHS partners and liaised with HRA and MHRA to obtain approvals.I am a Good Clinical Practice trained law graduate with a wealth of experience and skills obtained through working on small teams and a desire to "get the job done".I live in Whitley Bay and love the region in which I live and work. To get away from a screen, I love to sew! I volunteer with Girl Guiding and Scouts, and Secretary for our Scout Group Trustee Board.
