I represent companies and their directors and executives on complex business and securities litigation, white collar, corporate governance, internal investigations and risk management. I am often retained as independent outside counsel to lead internal investigations into a wide range of allegations of misconduct and evaluate derivative shareholder demands/claims for Boards of Directors and Special Litigation Committees. I craft global strategies to manage litigation matters across multiple jurisdictions and parallel governmental proceedings. In addition to my legal practice, I am Chief Talent and Inclusion Officer at Farella where I am focused on the growth and development of the next generation of lawyers and making Farella and the legal profession more diverse, equitable and inclusive.I serve as a Trustee of the California State Bar’s Board of Trustees by appointment of the California Supreme Court. The State Bar of California is the largest state bar in the U.S. with over 290,000 licensees. In 2023, it had revenue of over $400 million and distributed a record total of $150 million to 101 legal aid organizations and an additional $20 million to support Governor Newsom's CARE Court initiative. Since 2013, I co-founded and lead Women in Securities (WISe) which has created a Bay Area community of over 100 women securities litigators. Throughout my career, I have engaged in social justice pro bono work including representing a class of inmates at Pelican Bay State Prison resulting in a landmark ruling by Judge Thelton Henderson, those seeking asylum and nonprofits challenging Trump-era regulations seeking to eradicate anti-red-lining protections for historically underrepresented communities. Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business, San Francisco Business Times (2023)Best Lawyers in America, Litigation - Securities (2014-2024)BTI Client Service All-Star Attorney (2017)Top 100 Women Lawyers in California, Daily Journal (2013)The Legal 500 United States (2015-2018)Super Lawyers (2004-2008, 2012-2024),Top 100 Lawyers & Top 50 Female Lawyers in Northern California (2004)Fellow, American Bar Foundation
