In my current position I have hybridised my skills as an actor and teacher in order to empower individuals and groups wishing to leverage their spoken communication and presentation skills to the advantage of their careers and personal growth. I do this through through carefully designed and facilitated workshops and courses, which are based on a client's specific contextual demands and goals and well-supported by ongoing qualitative research into industry best practice, as well as leading Human Resource and workplace change-management thinking. The human voice is intricately tied to our identity and emotional history, so often the work is deeply personal for clients and has allowed me to use my empathy and creative skills, such as text analysis, vocal production technique, narrative landscaping and vocal characterisation in order to fully support each client during their transformational experience.I conduct courses in the following areas:1. I have used my academic and practical training as an actor/performer in order to engage with the local and international entertainment industry in many roles and performance modalities. I have worked with some of South Africa's award-winning writers, producers, actors and directors in theatre, film and copy, as well as agency representation. I have had many opportunities to use my story-telling skills in order to deepen the creative practice of bringing creative visions to life for a variety of audiences.

As an academic tutor and teaching assistant, I supported the academic staff in the Centre for Theatre, Dance & Performance Studies at the University of Cape Town, by tutoring first and second year students in the following:1. academic writing & referencing,2. representation, optics, embodiment theory in post-colonial South Africa3. ethics of performance,4. performance aesthetic functions (costume, lighting, scenography, make up, movement, character embodiment, style),5. audience analysis,6. text analysis,7. I am most proud of the online academic support structure I devised for students struggling with academic work. I was also part of academic support team helping students and lecturers to establish and navigate online onboarding swiftly during COVID-19, as well as monitoring and supporting the student navigation/experience thereof for 2020-2021.

I held the position of Drama teacher for a Non-Governmental Organisation working to provide quality extra-curricular Speech and Drama class experiences to economically disadvantaged school pupils, between the ages of five to thirteen, in communities across Cape Town. The position required managing, engaging and inspiring classes of up to 60 students, with a variety of familial and learning challenges. The aim of the programme was to instil empowering life-skills and to help each child's personal development through the expression of their own creativity and narrative. Lessons were designed and conducted in order to facilitate learning through a mixture of speech work, voice production and modulation, mime and physical theatre, solo and choral poetry, acting dramatic texts, storytelling, creative movement and theatre sports.
