Developers were delighted to find that they once again had access to their application logs in real time; the same visibility they had when logs were on premises instead of in the cloud. When promoted to oversee the Monitoring Team, I found antiquated monitoring systems and dashboards. Visibility was lacking since they didn’t trust the results of the systems. Under my leadership, we reduced both MTTD and MTTR by 40% and transformed the department’s work. I led a Proof of Value for AIops software and chose BigPanda, software that quickly processes voluminous alerts and pinpoints the root cause of issues—and saved many hours and much stress.
