Sarah Heitmeyer is a ceramic artist known for creating waterscapes and cloudspaces through sculptural wall tile. She pairs digital and craft based production techniques to capture the restorative effect of art and nature.Sarah received national recognition through the Emerging Artist Award from the National Conference on Education of the Ceramic Arts in 2019. She received her Masters of Fine Arts at the State University of New York at New Paltz and Bachelors of Fine Arts at Alfred University. She has worked for ceramic design and production studios such as KleinReid, Kala Stein Design, and ModCraft Tile, as well as a computer aided design assistant for the Hudson Valley Advanced Manufacturing Center and Polich Tallix.She completed several internships and residencies such as a post-baccalaureate program at Colorado State University, a summer residency at the Wellsville Creative Arts Center, an internship at Anderson Ranch Arts Center, and a year residency at the Flower City Pottery (then the Genesee Center for the Arts).Sarah creates custom commissions in her studio and teaches Computer Aided Design for SUNY New Paltz.Visit her website: http://www.SarahHeitmeyerCeramics.com/Instagram: @sarah_heitmeyer
