District Wide Certified Behavior Specialist
CurrentIn this role I design and implement trauma-informed, inclusive and scalable district wide systems for supporting students with behavioral and mental health challenges. Some key achievements include: • Championing the academic and personal success of 100+ students while achieving 2.8K KPI's over a seven-year period by partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to formulate and execute data-driven and scalable behavior management and crisis prevention as well as intervention programs and tools.• Supporting students and families during a mental health crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic by lobbying for the establishment of a 'Mental Health Liaison' role to expedite access to mental and behavioral health resources for over 50 families and over 100 learners.• Impacting the professional development of educators and administrators by creating curriculum and facilitating trauma-informed and DEI-sensitive training workshops resulting in a reduced need for crisis interventions and the enhancement of student outcomes.• Augmenting the quality of care at Merrick UFSD by engineering automated intake systems to enhance data tracking for the scheduling and prioritization of urgent care enabling the implementation of continuous process improvements.• Being headhunted by a public school as the first behavior specialist hired in New York State for showcasing proven ability to successfully overhaul organizational deficits and being highly recommended by industry leaders.
