Operations Data Analyst
As a quality analyst with work specific to Coordinated Care Organization (CCO) Operations, this role focuses on analysis of patient and facility data in order to meet various reporting needs.I provide analyses and data reports for various organizational and state-wide audits, as well asmaintain partnerships with the Oregon Health Authority to develop new areas of analyses, including demographic data for members.
Data Analyst I
This role was a promotion from the last at this organization, with more focus and attention to health care data analytics. As a Data Analyst 1, I am responsible for analyzing multiple data sets, including Uniform Data System (UDS) and COVID Data from the Health Resources and Services Administration. Additionally, part of this role requires working with health centers to improve their data collection processes. Another facet to this position is program management and compliance of evaluation data, strategies, and training manuals for our HRSA grant.
Data Specialist
As the data specialist I was tasked with content creation and presentation of our data work at the organization. Specifically, I worked with health center quality metric data. In this role, I also was part of the creation process for the first Social Determinants of Health metric introduced to 34 federally qualified health centers.
Employee Support Center Coordinator
As the Employee Support Center Coordinator, I work under the Real Time Operations Management in the Zoom's Retail Health Department. This team is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of Portland and Seattle's Clinics. My duties include:1. Oversight and management of clinic schedules: Zoom+Care has 38 clinics in Portland, Seattle, and Salem and each day, these clinics have hundreds of patients scheduling for multiple healthcare needs. In order to monitor each clinic's schedule, Zoom+Care uses unique and technologically advanced real-time heat maps and timeliness schedules to document how many exams happen per clinic per hour. As a Help Team Associate, I analyze clinic schedules with these tools to ensure all visits are running on time, and that each clinic has the maximum amounts of appointments avaliable per day. 2. Scheduling Zoom+ Associates and Providers: I ensure that each clinic is staffed with the appropriate amount and type of staff. At Zoom+, we offer Primary Care Providers, as well as speciality services lines on demand, such as Gynecology, Mental Health, and Dermatology. It is vital that with these service line offerings, we ensure proper scheduling to give the health care professionals the care that they need, and assign them to clinics that have the proper equipment.3. Customer Service: I field calls from patients all over the Pacific Northwest, directing them to use our online telehealth specialty and answering any billing, medical insurance, and types of services that Zoom+ offers. This rapid and rewarding tasks allows all of our patients to get seen in our clinics quicker, for safer, better care.
Clinical Associate & Phlebotomist
Zoom+Care is a healthcare institution founded in Portland, OR that delivers on-demand healthcare to patients. Zoom offers urgent care, primary care, as well as on-demand specialists. The model at Zoom is to make healthcare available at the patient's connivence and make healthcare more accessible in the modern world. As a Clinic Associate, I have the responsibilities of:1. Clinic Management/Operations: The Zoom+Care Associates (ZA's) are responsible for running the Zoom+Care clinics. 2. Direct Patient Interaction: This includes helping check in/out patients, navigating them through insurance verification and benefits of their insurance, scheduling patients, and referring out patients. All this is done with the use of Zoom+Care's EMR system.3. Laboratory/Pharmacy Dispensing: ZA's are trained to run rapid lab tests for providers, including rapid Strep, Flu, and Mono tests. Zoom Clinics have in-house medications, and we are responsible for printing pharmacy labels and instructing the patients on how to read and understand their prescription medication guides. Additionally, all associates are trained with a Zoom+Care license to be a phlebotomist. These responsibilities included performing venipuncture on patients, as well as processing blood labs.
Health Care Operations Intern
The California Primary Care Association exists to advance primary health care in California, as well as represent Community Health Centers across the state through advocacy and representation in the State Capitol. As the Health Care Operations Intern, I worked on many projects that focused on the operations and technical side of running health clinics, as well as developed leadership and career building skills. The projects I completed as an intern were:1. Data reporting and analysis: This project was to sort through five years of statewide UDS and OSHPD data sets, which are reported by all Federally Qualified Health Centers in the State of California in order to use the data to make claims about advancements of diseases and patient populations. This project required advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, as well as statistical methods and reasoning. As an intern final project, I wrote a data analysis report on an original hypothesis that allowed me to investigate a topic I am interested in, as well as practice my statistical data analysis skills and report writing. I investigated the Epidemiology between Infectious Disease Prevalence and its relationship to poverty level in California. 2. Research: As health centers are transforming their care, I had the opportunity to exercise research skills for the Alternative Payment Methods and Payment Pilot Programs (CP3) that are being tested in community health clinics. This consisted of researching effective alternative encounters in health care; this research would eventually be used in order to advance practice in CHC's.3. Compliance and Technical Assistance: This included gaining knowledge and researching best practices in compliance of CHC's with policies such as HIPAA. Additionally, I presented ideas that would advance the technical assistance between the association and health centers.
Alternative Break Lead
The Alternative Break Program allows students from the University, assisted by faculty advisors, to spend their spring breaks traveling to either domestic or international sites to complete a service learning trip. These trips focus around a social justice issue, and allow students to work in collaboration with the community they are traveling to in order to create sustainable change. As the Lead, I planned, organized, and executed the seven day service learning trip to Jinotega, Nicaragua that had the social justice issue of Public Health and sustainability. I exercised knowledge of Social Determinants of Health, Nicaraguan culture, and the Spanish language.
Student Library Assistant
As a Student Library Assistant, I worked in both the Allan Price Science Research Library as well as the Mathematics Library as a desk representative. I assisted in daily operations, such as answering phone calls as well as communicating with both fellow students and faculty. I exercised customer service skills while helping multiple library patrons a day. As I gained experience at the job, I helped new employees learn the skills necessary to do the job and helped integrate them into the work environment. In addition to working the desk at the math library, I also assisted in the homework help center as a math tutor. I assisted undergraduate students in Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, and Statistics. This helped develop my quantitative reasoning skills as well as allowed me to develop interpersonal skills with the students I as assisting.
