Serves as the Academic Coordinator for the Youth Employment Project in the Lenfest Center for Community Workforce Partnerships

• Advocated for Academic Student Employees at the University of California to have a safe and fair workplace free from racism, sexism, and all forms of oppression, which included fighting for industry standard-setting protections from bullying and abusive conduct, increased access needs protections, increased contract protections for international student workers, and continued protections from discrimination including discrimination due to citizenship status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability status.• Facilitated trainings, both 1:1 and in large groups of up to 100, to ensure Academic Students Employees were aware of their rights under our contract.• Connected with Academic Student Employees 1:1, in person, and via phone, email, and text, to learn about their priorities and gage their support for proposed actions.• Collaborated to promote the concerns of disabled Academic Student Employees within the larger conversation of workplace issues, and created solidarity among individuals with disparate priorities.• Fought for social justice in our campus community, and public education as a whole, with a focus on issues such as affordable housing, fair wages, and international student rights.

• Facilitated learning for a variety of topics including data analysis, data visualization and general psychology, through weekly lab sections of 15-30 students, weekly office hours, and leading a full class lecture of 200-600 students about once a year.• Advised and mentored students during 1:1 and small group meetings where long- and short-term goals, work-life balance, and resources for both were discussed.• Provided support and individualized feedback on student assignments.• Sought feedback through regular classroom observations, and continued education on topics such as creating inclusive classrooms, active learning, and alternative assessment strategies.

•Compled 1,800 hours of service as a team leader on the Kansas City Start Up team. Helped to establish a new City Year program in the Kansas City School District.•Led and supported a team of 8 AmeriCorps members at Central Middle School, a Title I school where 100% of students receive free or reduced cost lunch. Our team worked full time in school, as tutors and mentors in 10 classrooms, providing individualized academic instruction for approximately 60 students and individualized behavior and attendance coaching for an additional 50 students. My Responsibilities as a City Year Americorps Member include, but are not limited to the following- Completing 1,700 hours of service as a tutor, mentor and coach to unlock student’s potential and encourage graduation and college readiness in a low-income school. - One of four people selected to serve on a committee planning logistics and programming for the corps’ Martin Luther King service day. Approximately 100 corps members worked in partnership with the Youth Leadership Summit.- Evaluations Coordinator for my team of 15 corps members. Responsible for facilitating data entry, training team members on data software, and attending webinars on data use. - Partner with an Algebra I teacher to provide Tier 1 Support for five classes for 20-30 students four or five days a week. - Provide approximately one hour per week of targeted Tier II intervention in math and behavior for fifteen students.- Selected to serve on the “PT crew” as the representative from my school. Lead a corps of approximately 120 people in physical training exercises at Unity Rally once a month and introduce new moves to the corps. - Facilitated the creation of team “We Serve” mission statement, which was read at our City Year Opening Day Ceremony. - Represented City Year to a table of seven community members at the annual Power of Women Luncheon. - Five weeks of training and regular bi-monthly supplementary instruction in leadership development, child development, tutoring, diversity, the history of national service, and the landscape of educational policy.

As a Lifeguard for the Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania my responsibilities included the following:- Red Cross Professional Rescuer full course June 2014- Supervise patrons in the pool, watch for potential emergencies - Enforce pool rules- Assist patrons- Assist with cleaning the pool area

As the study manager from June 2012 – February 2014 my tasks included the following:- Partnered with graduate students and Dr. Vazire to design a two-year longitudinal study for 400 participants analyzing how personality perception influences intimate relationships. Created scripts, email templates and protocols to recruit participants and then implemented this project. - Facilitated training for 10-20 new and returning research assistants for five semesters.- Managed research assistants’ interactions with participants and resolved day-to-day problems during four semesters.- Partnered with the graduate students to organize schedules for 15-20 research assistants for 3 different semesters.- Contributed to regular meetings where study implementation was discussed and plans for new stages were made.- Presented posters at two major conferences in personality psychology. (Society for Personality and Social Psychology – 2013 & Association for Research in Personality – 2013)- Committed to 7.5 hours/week as a research assistant. Worked up to 30 hours/week as study manager while in school. Additionally I severed as a research assistant from May 2011- February 2014 and my responsiblities included the following: - Managed two experiment sessions each week, with up to 3 participants per session, during 2 semesters. - Piloted coding schemes used to analyze data from the EAR (Electronically Activated Recorder).- Analyzed 30 sets of EAR data containing an average of 300 thirty-second audio files each. - Reviewed data for accuracy, supervised 5 other students in data checking projects, and organized data. - Analyzed and discussed articles relevant to personality and self-knowledge each week.- Worked over 1200 hours during my three years as a research assistant.

As a Lifeguard for The Lodge Des Pares I was responsible for the following: - American Red Cross Professional Rescuer, (Initial certification: December 2007; Most recent: June 2014)- Facilitated use of the pool by several hundred patrons each day. - Rescued patrons in case of emergency. - Worked as part of a team to assist other lifeguards with rescues, contact EMS and support staff during emergencies.- Cared for patrons with minor injuries.- Evacuated patrons in case of fire.

As a research assistant I worked on the following: - Staining cells, taking pictures of the cells, finding and organizing representative pictures for each stage of the life cycle of the malaria parasite- Read and attended talks about biology and the malaria parasite - Forty hours a week for 5 weeks
