About Sarah Gross

Creative Director/Partner, Storyfolk.www.storyfolk.com.au As our name suggests, storytelling is in our DNA. We believe that stories build relationships and drive growth. Our work is all about storytelling, from strategy to branding, copywriting to design, and animation to digital. We work with clients across various industries, such as The National Centre for Action on Child Sexual Abuse, Chubb Insurance, Open Galactic (space technology) Kuranga (Australia's largest native nursery) Shhh Silk (global retail brand endorsed by the Kardashians), Mental Health First Aid Australia, Ethical Clothing Australia, and many more. Cass and I started Storyfolk with a simple ethos to invest in storytelling/strategic thinking, push our ideas further, create work that resonates with real people and select our clients wisely (based on an alignment of values). This clarity from the start has allowed us to focus on these goals which has allowed us to quickly become a trusted studio for not-for-profits and purpose-driven brands, and go toe-to-toe with some of Australia's biggest, most prestigious and highly regarded agencies for industry awards and recognition. For us, this has just solidified that you don't have to be the biggest to compete with the best. We are still young in our brand journey, and we're excited to continue this momentum. For all brand enquiries, feel free to contact me at sarah@storyfolk.com.au

  • Cotton On Group
    Marketing Graphic Designer
Cotton On Group May 2015 - Dec 2018
In-house Marketing Graphic Designer for Co Brands and Rubi Shoes.Working across global Marketing Campaigns for Rubi Shoes, Cotton On Foundation and Co Brands (Cotton On, Rubi, and Cotton On Body) with creative concepts, development and rollout of impactful campaigns across Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand and Zambia. Some key campaigns include Christmas, Boxing Day, Black Friday/Cyber Monday, CNY, Ramadan, and Mothers Day. These campaigns would then be rolled out across in-store, VM, Digital, Social, PR, and activations. Some particularly noteworthy projects include Cotton On x Disney “Mickey's 90th Birthday” collaboration, influencer program #RUBIMUSE, spacial and event design for PR events such as the Rubi 2017 re-brand, the launch of Rubi Beauty in 2018, Rubi x Cotton On Kids “Mini-Me” collab, design/writing for Life with Rubi Magazine and being selected for a custom lettering project where I personalized sneakers at key Rubi stores around Melbourne over two weeks to launch "The only white sneaker" campaign. Our 2016 summer shop range was particularly significant (and fun) as we saw sales far exceed the projected amount to become our highest-performing Christmas in history for the brand. This involved the design of the core patterns on the range of products being sold and bringing that to life in the marketing material/campaign.

  • Esperanto Magazine
    Marketing Manager
    Esperanto Magazine Jan 2014 - Dec 2014
    Melbourne, Australia
My primary focus was building our audience and increasing our customer engagement, reach and to align with advertising partners with similar brand values and goals. To further our reach and increase our customer engagement, we launched a series of social competitions that aligned with our magazine launch dates. We wanted to get our readers excited about the magazine and become part of the process, we did this by creating pop-up magazine launches where we collaborated with advertising partners, local business and influencers. These events were invaluable opportunities for our readers and students to mingle with some of the industries best. My role was to coordinate these events from idea to execution from managing the budgets, organising the guest list, booking the space, photographers, musicians, seeding influencers, and industry. I also managed our online presence which included Instagram and Facebook. We increased our Instagram followers by 300% in our first 4 months, this led to an increase in traffic to our website which during my time we completely redesigned to create a seamless 360 print to digital experience. To make sure our printed magazine was up to the quality that we desired. We relied heavily on sponsorship. I was responsible for generating new business and advertising. I did this through cold emailing, seeding, strategic partnerships and pitching to gain advertising sponsorships.http://esperantomagazine.com/
