Major skills include advanced dissection of tissue specimens (RCPath category A-C), being able to critically embed tissue samples and cut ultra thin sections using a microtome. This post involved analysis of routines samples. I was involved in research projects while in post including ' An Evaluation of Special Stains in. Liver. Biopsies'. I was able to rotate and gain experience in all of pathology including microbiology, histology, haematology, blood transfusion, clinical chemistry and immunology. I was able to carry out multiple techniques including HPLC, PCR, GC-MS, microtomy, immuno assays, electrophoresis, serology and specialist staining. I also gained skills such as leadership and being able to work independently as well as part of a team. I was able to work to specific deadlines.
