Developed and led the instructional program, talent systems, and school culture for startup middle-high school on Chicago's South Side.

Developed and implemented school-wide systems to promote a joyous and achievement-focused school culture. Coached, mentored and evaluated 7 ELA and science teachers. Provided curricular and instructional professional development to teacher teams. Offered strategic support to middle school leadership team.

Selected as one of 8 fellows nationwide for prestigious urban principal training program because of transformative student achievement record and high-potential leadership ability. Led the middle school team at Alain Locke Charter School as a part of the Field Study component of the Ryan Fellowship.

Coached 11 Chicago Public School business/entrepreneurship teachers to increase instructional effectiveness. Designed regional alumni strategy including a data tracking initiative; managed 100K scholarship fund and alumni engagement programs.

Piloted school's first AP Human Geography course and students achieved network-topping scores. Initiated and led remedial phonics instruction for high school non-readers. Led 100% of advisory to meet academic, service and discipline goals by establishing warm/strict culture, developing relationships with students and families, transparently tracking metrics. Mentored first-year co-teacher.

Produced significant academic achievement in the classroom: 90% of honors 8th grades earned high school diploma Regents distinction in English; 8th graders made an average 2 years of growth in reading; improved 7th grade ELA proficiency by 45%. Designed and led first ever honors 8th grade English (Regents) course in the Bronx. Developed engaging, critical thinking based curricula for general, inclusion and honors students.Led professional development workshops on Socratic Seminar and Co-teaching. Initiated and facilitated after school Shakespearean Drama Club. Served as UFT Chapter Leader and 7th grade team leader.

Co-founded a women's village bakery for income generation and poverty reduction in cooperation with co-founder Janet Wambedde. Trained over 50 rural women in HIV/AIDS prevention, nutrition, sanitation, business plan writing, marketing skills, reproductive health and basic English.

Trained hundreds in HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment strategies in over 10 field seminars. Assisted in over 100 home visits to HIV-positive clients to monitor care, drug regimen, and income generating activities.
