I led a global team for early career hiring in the U.S., EMEA, and India.

I led a team of incredible university relations and recruiting professionals. Together we hire hundreds of students annually across diverse disciplines and locations to generate a strategic early career talent pipeline, partner with business leaders across Viasat, foster relationships with leading Universities, and manage a robust internship program.

I connected high potential early career engineers and computer scientists to university graduate or internship opportunity within Viasat. To do this, I partnered with top universities across the country. My primary target schools included: UCLA, UMass - Amherst, Tufts University, and WPI. I also partnered with business leaders to understand their hiring needs and facilitate the interview and hiring process for nearly 100 students annually. For two years I was honored to serve as the lead recruiter for the annual Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing. I coordinated hundreds of pre-conference calls and interviews during the conference. I supported my team through data analysis, planning internship events, and training new team members.

I identified early career talent for enterprise wide development programs through coordinating on-campus and virtual recruiting efforts, screening candidates, and maintaining relationships with high potential students.I was also responsible for the re-implementation and use of the candidate relationship management tool, RecSolu (now Yello). I managed the university recruiting budget and continuously worked to improve the recruiting process, through best practice research, to attract and retain the next generation of talent.

The Leadership Preparation Program is a competitive, two-year, accelerated leadership development program designed to prepare early career high potential employees for management and strategically significant roles. In this role, I was responsible for partnering with hiring managers in the Enterprise Shared Services and Information Technology line of business to define their recruiting needs. My activities included: screening and evaluating candidates, utilizing the ATS to manage job postings and applicants in the recruiting process, and maintaining a diverse candidate pipeline for entry- level positions. I worked primarily with high volume requisitions including customer service, claims processing, and other sales support roles. I also created a recruiting toolkit to assist experienced and new recruiters in the use of Lincoln Financial's systems and processes. In addition to my business aligned recruiting responsibilities, I was the lead recruiter for University Recruiting efforts in Indiana for development programs and other entry level positions.

In my first rotation of the LPP program, I worked on the Strategic Planning and Diversity and Inclusion teams. I analyzed employee data to evaluate and track key HR initiatives. I also launched the development of standard operating procedures for the HR organization, led the forecasting and budget creation for multiple HR cost centers, supported the efforts of Multicultural Awareness Committees across 8 unique locations, and worked with HR leaders to organize the planning of an all HR Summit. I also had the opportunity to work on the core team who launched our first enterprise-wide internship program.Lincoln’s Legacy Stretch Project – I completed research to help build a 3-year initiative in celebration of President Abraham Lincoln’s Legacy of freedom, equality, and opportunity, and the 150th anniversaries of the Emancipation Proclamation and 13th Amendment. My team developed an oral history project for students to capture stories from their families.
