Sarah Jane Cobb is currently serving in Chick-fil-A, Inc.'s Leadership Development Program as an Interim Manager and Grand Opening Supervisor. Her role involves 24/7 travel, moving wherever and whenever the the business needs.Originally from East Tennessee, I grew up as the youngest of five kids in a pastor's family. I started working at Chick-fil-A in Alcoa, TN, when I was 15-years-old and stayed there until I started school at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. I graduated in 2015 with a degree in Communications, focussing in broadcast journalism. I was lucky enough to meet my husband two months before graduation! He is still involved in sports writing. From UT, I started my career in broadcast as a producer and reporter at WYMT-TV in Hazard, KY, where I learned the business from front-to-back and worked my way up to a reporter and weekend anchor. At the end of my two-year contract, I was able to move back to my hometown of Knoxville, TN, working for WYMT's sister station, WVLT-TV, as a week day reporter and weekend anchor. With my role, I was able to develop young journalists, participate in community fundraisers and, most importantly, share the stories I cared about to the people I considered my neighbors. After two years, however, my husband received a job offer in his hometown of Memphis, TN, covering the Memphis Grizzlies. This came at a time we knew we needed to be near his family, so the decision was clear. We moved to Memphis in November of 2018, but I was hesitant to sign a new contract in Memphis. Craving familiarity, I went back to work at a local Chick-fil-A with the intention to pursue Chick-fil-A's Leadership Development Program. I worked for Matt Pruitt to create a Food Safety and Quality Director role from 2019 until late 2020 when I was accepted as an External Participant, combining my Chick-fil-A operational experience with my journalistic leadership experience. Today, I am traveling the country with my husband and our dog, Ruby, serving operators who are launching businesses and serving their communities.After exiting the program, my plan is to pursue owning my own Chick-fil-A to provide a safe place for my community to gather and enjoy delicious food.
