Part of the Sysco Family, the role has changed to form that of the Leadership team at KFF, which involves adapting the business to life in a corporate environment and ensuring that KFF culture does not change, its values are upheld in conjunction with the wider Sysco values and visions ensuring EBIT targets are delivered.

Responsible for a high performing sales team of Key Account Managers, across all business sectors. My team is the best in foodservice, the most loyal and hardworking I have ever known. It’s a pleasure to lead them, and an honour to be part of the Senior team here at KFF.

Proud to be a committee member of ACE. My role is to secure sponsorship for some events over the year. The first event I was involved in, together with the tireless support and management of Jeni Edwards, and working with Tony Ball at 3663, together we achieved the highest amount of money raised for an ACE event.

I was the Account Manager responsible for negotiating, and tendering, and then one of the heads of the project team that further negotiated, and completed the launch of the first phase (30Million) of the now 200M HMP Foodservice Contract, which is one of the largest Foodservice contracts in place at 3663. It took an awful lot of, can do, make it happen, find a way, positive thinking, and it helped me build a network of like-minded people within the 3663 business who I adopted into the project team. This team included Operation Directors, Depot Managers, Lawyers, Technical Experts, Swithenbanks, Finance Directors, and 3663 Board Members. It brought it home to me just how much of a long shot it was when the then Chief Exec wrote to me after we had won it, expressing their surprise that we won it. Apparently they didn't expect to win it, glad they didn't tell me!I was single minded in my approach, and made it happen, and it was not the only account that I won during those three years, or the only account I managed. It has been, and will be one of the most exhausting, exciting, frustrating but overall fulfilling years I have ever had. And at the end of it I had my second child! And how do you go back to just account managing after that roller-coaster? I couldn't, instead I joined KFF!

Poacher turned keeper, my experience at Acquire helped me gain a very comprehensive view of the other side of the table of a Salesperson, ie the Buyers Perspective.I found my job wholeheartedly satisfying in a completely different way, because, for one the challenge of gaining the trust and the comradeship of the companies I was working with, as an external consultant is difficult, but once you have done it, you have followers for life. There is also nothing better than re-organising a customers purchase ledger to find savings, and then working with suppliers to make it turn into margins. Whilst I didn't directly negotiate the deals with suppliers, my experience as a supplier often helped us find a position or a deal that both parties would thrive on. It also gave me a massive network of supplier friends, and experience in fields other than Foodservice.My Excel skills also really improved, and I came to enjoy, yes I actually enjoy number crunching in Excel. Nothing pleases me more than a multi tabbed spreadsheet that works, and proves my argument.

I joined Brakes as an entry level representative with virtually no sales experience. Thanks to Brakes fantastic training, and support from my immediate managers at Brakes, I was very quickly promoted, from Area Sales Rep, to Area Sales Manager, to Major Account Manager, then to National Account Manager. I didnt miss a bonus while I was there, and I was consistently either the highest achiever, or one of the highest.I achieved National Account Manager level by age 25, and I felt at the time that the next step up, was a long way away, , and I like a challenge....
