I was also responsible for the completion of permit applications and ensuring compliance upon permit issue. This includes liaising with regulatory bodies such as the Environment Agency and Animal Health (DEFRA).I was heavily involved in the development and implementation of the Biogen Environmental Management System (EMS). I led the development of this system including the identification of environmental aspects and impacts, the identification of applicable legislation, the development of objectives and targets and writing environmental procedures. I also gave staff training on a number of environmental issues as well as being trusted with the mentoring of more junior members of the team.
