I am responsible for supporting the delivery of County Durham’s inward investment service. My role involves identifying opportunities by sector and geography; positioning County Durham through developing sector propositions; identifying prospects through marketing and lead generation; and engaging with prospects through proactive support to help them locate to County Durham. I have a proven track record in developing and implementing a range of marketing campaigns using a range of tools including website development, social media, email marketing, video production, online and offline advertising, events, PR and direct mail.I am also responsible for market research and analysis in order to produce compelling proposals in response to potential inward investment enquiries.Additionally, I work closely with new businesses locating to the area to facilitate familiarisation visits for key employees and their families. Working in the business and economic development team, I was responsible for all strategic and tactical marketing for Invest North Tyneside. My main focus was to position and promote the area as a prime location to attract investment and jobs to the region.

Tyne And Wear

Working on behalf of five local authorities; Gateshead, Newcastle upon Tyne, North Tyneside, South Tyneside and Sunderland, my primary role was to promote Tyne and Wear as a key location for business investment and relocation.In addition to developing and implementing the company’s marketing strategy and all marketing and communications activities, I was also responsible for managing the marketing budget, the marketing team and third party suppliers. Other responsibilities included market research and analysis and brand management.Key achievements during my time at Tyne and Wear Development Company included working as part of the project team responsible for bringing major businesses to the region including Tesco Bank, Balfour Beatty, The Marine Management Organisation and London and Country Mortgages.I also managed the development and sustainability of regional events including the North East Contact Centre Awards which attracted in excess of 540 guests.

South Tyneside

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, this varied role used a broad range of the marketing mix to provide complete marketing support from the company’s central marketing department in the North East to over 15 manufacturing sites worldwide.Coordinating and managing the production of all on-line and off-line marketing communications materials including sales support tools, presentations, brochures and product specification documents. Additionally, I was responsible for organising and managing a range of events and activities both nationally and internationally.I also planned the annual media schedule and built relationships with the various trade press in order to raise the company’s profile within the marketplace.Worked closely with the sales and R&D departments to develop and drive the launch of new products into the marketplace.Carrying out quantitative and qualitative research and analysis of the global market.

Gateshead

Employed as Marketing and Events Co-ordinator for this management consultancy with a portfolio of UK and International clients including Rolls-Royce, 3M, SC Johnson, Cadbury Trebor Bassett and McVities. My role was to raise the company’s profile whilst effectively controlling the marketing budget.
