Though much of my career has revolved around theater, music, and education, I have honed skills that make me a valuable team member in any environment.One of my proudest accomplishments is directing a joint university and community production of South Pacific. My directorial debut taught me some of my hardest lessons in leadership and collaboration. Now, I continue perfecting those skills as I direct several shows a year.In 2018, I took over the organization of Lompoc Youth Theater, which for nine years has been primarily a summer camp. Since I became the executive director, Lompoc Youth Theater has obtained non-profit status, put on two additional camps, and collaborated with local professionals to provide a weekend of performing arts workshops for the youth of our community. I spurred this growth using such transferable skills as networking, teamwork, recruitment, negotiating, sales, marketing, and more.Any performer knows that they must sometimes make their own opportunities. When I relocated to California, I began self-producing concerts in something I call The Sarah Raines Concert Series. From this, I learned that I am capable of making something out of nothing. And when I have a little something to start with, like I did with Lompoc Youth Theater, I can make something even more substantial.Add me to your team, give me something small, medium, or large to start with, and see how much I can make it grow!
