Working with other administrative directors and the firm's board, I led a team of legal and information management experts who, with me, were responsible for ensuring Henry Davis York's legal practitioners are supported by comprehensive library, precedents, knowledge management, advice and operational services to support all aspects of effective and efficient practice and quality client service. I brought highly developed people, technological, operational and cultural skills and understanding to my role. As an admitted legal practitioner, I advised on legal issues both internally and externally.I worked closely with each practice group, including pro bono, with the managing partner and with the other business services of HDY (People & Development, Business Development, Finance and IT) on a range of knowledge and information management initiatives including document and data management systems, information sharing, library management, knowledge capture and reuse, and research. I oversaw the risk management function in the firm and was a founding member of the Innovation Committee.I trained lawyers and clients in aspects of plain English, legal drafting and knowledge management, and was involved in the risk management and innovation initiatives of the firm. I ensured that the knowledge and information functions of the firm supported and enabled HDY's strategic plan, vision, values and goals and bring shared value to the firm and its clients.
