Validated off-the-shelf, commercially available Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) - based oncology panels (ThermoFisher and Illumina) for in lab clinical trials testing. Developed new procedures and assays under limited supervision. Collaborated with others and independently made detailed observations, analyzed data and interpreted results. Transferred.

My responsibilities included extraction development processes for oncology project by evaluating Fresh Frozen normal and tumor tissues, followed by carrying out downstream application for NGS applications. I established qPCR based Inhibitor Assay to monitor for inhibitors from extracted material and/or blood collection tubes, and developed and optimized.

My responsibilities within the Clinical Diagnostics Development department included support in transferring of Research and Development assays to the Clinical Laboratory, and partake in process improvements and troubleshoot for current diagnostics application (NIPT).

I processed marine sediments for isolation of medicinal natural products from marine microorganisms by conducting literature searches for selective isolation of specific taxa. I independently organized and performed antibiotic overlay assays of microbes to screen for antimicrobial activity.

Assisted in isolation of marine microbes for discovery of medicinal natural products by performing microbiology techniques. I prepared media and agar plates for large-scale fermentation, and shadowed and observed tissue culturing of cancer cell lines.

Volunteered, shadowed and assisted with Western Blotting and BCA Total Protein Assay. I prepared buffer solutions and performed routine laboratory functions.
