As a hostess, I was entrusted by my managers and the rest of the staff to keep the front of house organized and to seat customers quickly and fairly. Though the hours were not long, they required my full focus and that I think clearly in high-stress situations. Additionally, I was expected to keep the floors, bathrooms, tables and the bar clean at all times (busing tables, sweeping, and collecting dishes.) I was also the liaison to communicate any problems or dissatisfaction the customers have to the managers, which required patience, understanding, and developed people skills.
