As a founding member of Element AI’s Government Relations and Public Policy team, I informed governments and regulators regarding the significant future implications of data and AI. Notably in the areas of privacy, productivity, and the competitiveness of Canadian companies abroad. I was also a member of the European Development team, responsible for government relations.In my first six months, I secured $5M in funding with the Federal Government to buy GPUs for our AI data center. I represented Element AI in a Canadian AI mission in Paris, presenting Element AI to the Prime Minister of Canada, and the Canadian Ambassador to France. I organized and participated in two AI lobby days, one in Québec City and one in Ottawa to generate awareness amongst MPs about AI and its impacts on the future of work. I was a key organizer for the G7 Multistakeholder Conference on Artificial Intelligence which was held at Element AI’s office on December 6, 2018. This undertaking required extensive orchestration and security work done in collaboration with the Federal Government, Element AI’s marketing team and delegates from the G7 countries including Germany, France, United Kingdom, amongst others.
