Experienced Research Administration and Research Operations Executive with demonstrated success in clinical trials, human research, basic science research, data research, and healthcare industries. As the inaugural Director, Office of Sponsored Research (OSR) at Advocate Aurora Research Institute (AARI), Ms. Long joined AARI in 2021 to lead the integration of research administration into a centralized research administration office. Specifically, Ms. Long is responsible for the lifecycle of grants, contracts, research technology, clinical trial patient billing, and post award financial management for grants and contracts. Ms. Long directs and supports contract and budget negotiations for industry-sponsored clinical trials, federal grants and contracts, and other research agreements (i.e., DUA, DSA, MTA, CDA, etc.). She is also responsible for clinical trial billing and post-award management for all grants and contracts. She also leads the research technology team, which includes OnCore CTMS, EPIC Research liaison team, and RedCap. Also serving as the inaugural, Director of Research Operations at Augusta University, Ms. Long provided institutional direction for clinical research, translational research, and basic science research, which spanned Augusta University’s nine colleges, including the Medical College of Georgia, Dental College of Georgia, and Georgia Cyber Center. As a highly efficient leader, Ms. Long led research operations through the two consolidations / mergers by providing university-wide direction for centralizing research operations. She successfully implemented eight enterprise-wide research technology solutions and developed an enterprise-wide human resource strategic plan for Institutional Research growth. Ms. Long also provided oversight and direction for the Institution’s 17 Core Labs and Shared Research Resources. She was also an integral part of the clinical trials program, providing leadership for the development of centralized SOP’s, implementation of clinical trial management system, IRB system, and development of new strategic research support offices. Ms. Long is currently completing an Executive Doctor of Healthcare Leadership at the University of Alabama Birmingham. She has a Master of Science in Human Kinetics (Exercise Physiology) from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor of Science (Kinesiology) from the University of New Brunswick. Ms. Long is a Certified Research Contract Professional (CRCP) from MAGI and has early career experience in bed-side clinical trial programs and community based research.
