CANstruction AIA Akron 2011 & 2012 gave $40,000 worth of canned food to the Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank.Canstruction is a nonprofit annual design and build competition to construct fantastic, giant-sized structures made entirely out of CANned food. In each city after the structures are built and the winners declared, the creations go on view to the general public as giant art exhibits. VolunteerAmerican Institute of Architects (AIA) Akron Chapter of Ohio. During my Associate Director year, I was able to start an outreach program of Canstruction for the chapter to hold annually to benefit the local food bank and gain valuable public relations in the community. I also utilized a prior grant and small budget to buy 3 full sets of A.R.E. study material instead of only 1 at full price.
