About Sarah Marloff

I’m an award-winning reporter who’s written extensively on queer culture, history, and LGBTQ rights, as well as sexual assault, land use, HIV care, Texas’ death row, and women in entertainment. Prior to switching to freelance during the pandemic, I helped run the Austin Chronicle’s newsroom, covering the local mistreatment of sexual assault survivors among various other beats. I concurrently edited the alt-weekly’s LGBTQ section and put together annual Pride Packages and robust queer arts festival coverage. My work has appeared in the Texas Observer, Smithsonian Magazine, The Counter, Washington City Paper, Curbed, and more.My work has given me a deep understanding of social media, blog development, copywriting, public relations, and event planning. I'm a firm believer that dogs, coffee, and glitter make everything better.
