Pure Mathematics Research StudentJomo Kenyatta University Of Agriculture And Technology Jun 2013 - Jul 2013Nairobi, KenyaThis was a summer internship with the International Association of the Exchange of Students for Technical Expertise (IAESTE). I carried out independent research in Coding Theory. The focus was check equations used in today's industry and I specialised in the Verhoeff Algorithm. The Verhoeff Algorithm is used in ID numbers and is relatively successful in detecting errors and this project investigated which types of errors it could and couldn't identify.
