I am responsible for the ERS educational journal, Breathe, a quarterly commissioned peer-review journal with a circulation of 15,000 which is available in print and online. I work closely with the Chief Editor to decide on content and upcoming themes. For each issue, I commission appropriate articles and contact potential authors. I create flat plans and decide on images and layout, working alongside the designers to achieve the best quality publication possible. Most importantly, I have to ensure that the publication is printed on schedule and sent out to all subscribers on time. Recently, I have been involved in enhancing the online journal through creating both PDF and HTML versions of each article. Annually, I devise the budget for the journal. In addition, I work as a technical editor for all ERS publications where I first read scientific papers within the field of respiratory medicine. I edit each manuscript to conform to house style and to ensure presented scientific data is sound. In 2009, I was given the opportunity to work in the head office of the ERS in Lausanne, Switzerland for 2 months where I worked on the production of the ERS Annual Congress Scientific Programme through its entirety.

I was a medical writer of medical review papers for key opinion leaders on a wide variety of subject areas, including oncology, paediatrics and cardiology. I carried out telephone interviews with doctors and specialists in the area to gather cutting-edge information and performed my own literature reviews in order to understand each topic extensively. Review articles were primarily aimed at fellow doctors and specialists. In addition, I wrote several reviews and opinion pieces independently for a bespoke publication for BT Pharmaceuticals on licensing in the pharmaceutical industry.

I scanned medical records into an online system and was responsible for the company filing system.
