Concentration: Gender & Development Masters Thesis: Action and Advocacy to prevent Violence Against Women: A comparative analysis of Global Campaigns. Gauging the feminist context, role of networks / coalitions and the role of media tools and online engagement.Regional focus on Africa and the Middle East.

• Designed the Action and Advocacy Toolkit for the Network’s annual participation in the 16 Days of Activism global campaign to end violence against women. Surveyed member organizations to choose annual theme, wrote information materials and community activities for the toolkit, which was used by thousands of participants across the East African region. • Effectively met critical communications needs including editing a program book, correspondence to 80 attending member organizations and copy editing the Get Moving publication released by the GBV Prevention Network for a retreat hosted for member organizations across East Africa. Event management, facilitation and note taking for the three-day retreat.

• Initiated Seattle area Humanity First representation that included responsibility to plan and manage all fundraising events such as relief fundraising, benefit dinners and annual walk-a-thon fundraiser. • Built relationships and garnered resources from the local community for international projects and relief efforts.• Mobilized and retained volunteers into effective teams to represent Humanity First in the Northwest Area.

Chaya was established in 1996 to serve South Asian women in times of crisis and need and to raise awareness of domestic violence issues. It now serves as API Chaya with the Asian & Pacific Islander Women & Family Safety Center. • Led efforts in program development, event planning, and volunteer coordination of a 'Health and Happiness' series of events for women utilizing positive messaging and interactive opportunities to engage with Chaya’s mission to support survivors of domestic violence successfully increasing attendance of these events.• Selected to work with staff advocate on a 10 month strategic development, groundwork project to develop policy change within the community establishing a safe mechanism of communication between women seeking resources and leaders in the community.

• Researched local candidates and participated in committee group interviews with candidates for ratings for 2008 and 2009 elections. • Ratings are based on candidate’s involvement, effectiveness, character and knowledge. The long-standing process of the Municipal league is highly reputed.
